W9 Discussion the Jim Twins

The controversy of nature vs nurture significantly supports the life similarities of the Jim Twins. This debate has existed for many centuries because researchers found significant a significant challenge to separate environmental and genetic factors in human beings. Philosophers proposed the notion that human beings begin their lives as blank slates and their experiences carve their slates into unique personalities (Barlow, 2019). This idea has persisted up to now with the belief that events in a people’s early childhood have a significant influence on their lives compared to genetics. Behavioral scientists wanted to find out the reasons why estranged twins such as Jim Springer and Jim Lewis lead structurally identical lives to their DNA. This case contributed to the theory of nature vs nurture which talks about the impacts of environmental factors (nurture) versus hereditary factors (nature) on the behavior of human beings. In this controversy, “nature” is viewed as anything that is affected by genetic inheritance and other critical biological aspects. In the case of Jim Twins, both Springer and Lewis had nearly identical facial features (StuChannel3, 2010). Nature is viewed as traits affecting an individual’s environment such as their early childhood experiences, social and family relationships, community, and culture. For instance, the name “James” was widely used by parents to name their baby boys at the time when Jim Twins were born.

Both nature and nurture shape our personalities. The word nature is in most cases used to define the DNA of human beings. It includes our inbred genes and other hereditary components that could impact how our character traits evolved and how we matured from infanthood all the way to adulthood. (Barlow, 2019). Both nature and nurture include environmental impacts on our identities. Although our personality traits are genetically predetermined, they change as a result of the influence of our surroundings, which includes the individuals we spend time with as well as the average level of diet in our changing environment. Based on numerous research, it can be argued that human conduct is a combination of both nurture and nature. Evidence also suggests that both genetics and nurture play a role in animal behavior, particularly in grizzly bears (Fulker, & Eysenck, 2019). The nature vs. nurture supposition makes many claims that human behaviors are affected by both the genetic makeup of a person and their environment. A particular factor, however, might have a greater impact on the person.

The Jim Twins, their nature made the have so similar likes, habits, dislikes, and careers. Research shows that genetics have a significant effect on people’s personalities and behaviors (Barlow, 2019). This means several people’s traits are likely to be influenced by and associated with many genetic variants. Where genetics affect people’s personalities as a result of gene collection that led to the expression of some specific traits. The separated twins’ feelings of closeness to their newly discovered sibling were investigated by researchers. Results showed that identical twins were more familiar and closer with their siblings than they were with their closest friends, which raises the possibility that the relationship between identical twins has a strong genetic component. This applies to the Jim Twins case. I know of identical twins in my family. Other than their looks, they have a lot in common including their experiences and personalities. Since they live in the same environment nearly all of their memories are the same, and they often share similar thoughts.
