Dear Diary,
It has been four months since my first radiotherapy appointment. The treatment was effective and I was ready for more trials. I also flipped a coin five times again for my final prognosis. I got three heads and two tails. This indicates that I have several chances of living to see another day. Based on my doctor’s statistics, my cancer survival rate was 77%. This is because it was diagnosed early. The severity of my situation was also made clear by my doctor using these factors such as my general health and age. This means that my final prognosis is that there is a high chance that my cancer will be cured soon.
To determine if one is cured of cancer, physicians attempt to ascertain the severity of cancer once it has been diagnosed. Imaging examinations, including bone scans or X-rays, are sometimes used as staging tests and treatments to determine whether cancer is spreading to other body areas. After being provided with my final prognosis, I have mixed feelings. Fear, nervousness, and impatience are mixed in with gratitude for the smallest acts. People have done large and small things for my family and me. Friends have been stopping by with plants and food or just offering to sit and talk or watch a funny movie. Most of all, my family keeps me laughing and that was the best medicine of all. I learned that it is okay to need help, ask for it and accept it and that people want to help but do not necessarily know how. I learned that people will be there for you and it is okay.
If I am cured, there are several follow-up tests I will need. My follow-up care entails continuing to see my doctor for routine checkups. Blood tests and other examinations that search for alterations to my health or any issues that might arise as a result of my cancer treatment may be part of these check-ups. Based on my final prognosis, I have several plans for my immediate future. I will work to spread the word that anyone can develop regardless of age. In the hopes of assisting and inspiring anyone who might be experiencing a similar circumstance, I am quite open with my narrative. I will also try to advise people to be upbeat even when things are tough.
These journal exercises have allowed me to take control of my studies and my emotions and have promoted more reflection. I have also found it easier to connect their interests, schoolwork, and the outside world. The exercises have helped me become more confident in writing, increase my motivation to learn, and build self-awareness.
